How To Conceal Blemishes

Okay so this is something that I have to deal with every week. One thing I've learned, although it did take a little while, DO NOT pick at acne or skin irritations. That will only inflame them and make them look worse. Also, try not to over dry them with treatments because that will just make you flake. If you have a whitehead just take a hot shower and hold a hot wash cloth on it and after about a minute or so gently rub the head off without inflaming it. Mist your face with some toner and then let it dry. Put on foundation and see if that gives you the coverage you want, if not find a concealer that matches that same foundation. Using a concealer brush dab a small amount and circle it around the blemish and blend into outside. Hope this helps!

Keep Your Whites, White!

Okay so I know many people who cannot wear a white t-shirt more than once because of sweat marks. Well, here is the key to diluting those marks! Obviously we've all tried soaking it in bleach or washing it with bleach and that doesn't work. So instead, soak the stained area in hydrogen peroxide, pop an aspirin or two in the washer when it's already full with water, or soak the T-shirt in a solution of vinegar and water (1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 cup of water)

Back to tests

Did you stay up late last night studying for your anatomy and physiology test? Or any test for that matter. Well here are a few tricks to help you look gorgeous and awake when it comes to the morning!

Well first WASH YOUR FACE! especially if you forgot to do it the night before. All of that oil from the day before is still sitting on your face so do yourself a favor and give it a good wash. Tip: Rinse your face with warm water before putting treatment on it so that your pores will open up and get a better clean. To rinse off use cold water, it closes your pores and makes your face look more awake.

Next, apply a moisturizer all over your face, if you have oily skin like me, skip the moisturizer and just dab your face in your problem areas with an astringent of some sort.

Apply an even layer of foundation all over your face and blot with powder so it will stick. Make sure to get under your eyes so any dark circles you have wont show. Don't pack on the makeup because that will just make you look worse. Add a little bit of eyeliner to the top lid to open your eyes (avoid putting it on the bottom, it will close your eyes) brush a neutral eyeshadow over the lids and put on some mascara:) You'll look more awake and it's super easy.

Don't forget! Wash your face:)

Friday Night Lights!

Okay so the first football game is coming up and you obviously don't want to go out looking like a mess. And hey! there's still time for you to meet a cute boy;) So First I'm going to start with what to wear!

Okay well wear your school colors! Wear a schedule shirt or just one of your school t-shirts. If you don't have one wear a tank top with one of the colors from your school. Cute and simple! Next, wear shorts because god knows it's going to be hot. One thing I've learned is DO NOT pack on the lotion. Yes of course you want your legs to look good when the field lights hit them but the last thing you want is gooey legs. Gross! Put a dime size amount in your hands and just run it down your legs. It will give it the smoothness and the nice glow from the lights without the grossness.

Alright moving on. Now if you're anything like me you want to impress boys! There's only one problem about wearing makeup to football games or any sporting event for that matter, it smears. You don't want to look like Frankenstein's bride halfway through the game. Soooo here are a few tips to keep your eyeliner, eye shadow, etc. from smearing!
First, USE A PRIMER! I can't stress that enough. The reason your eyeliner comes off or smears is because of the oil in your eyelids. You can get a cheap primer from Walmart or get a higher priced from urban decay. It doesn't matter, just use one!
Also, if you wear face makeup, after you apply your foundation put powder over it. This will keep it in place. But make sure you don't soak your face in foundation because it will come off! One thing i like to pack in my wallet/purse are the blotting papers, you can find them at Walmart, target, and basically every drug store.

Next you have to deal with your hair. Before you go all out and style your hair, think about your climate! Is it going to be humid or dry? Is there a chance of rain? Basically it all comes down to climate. Don't spend an hour curling or straightening your hair when you know as soon as you step outside that it's going to frizz. My advice is to wear it up. Wear your hair in a high pony-tail and put a ribbon in it. Also, you could french braid your hair into one or two braids. If you're self conscience about putting your hair up, wear a headband to at least get the hair out of your face.

To finish of the look wear a cute pair of sandals, flats, or tennis shoes. Doesn't matter:)

Hairstyles!

Okay so I love doing cute hairstyles! I actually want to go to cosmetology school, I might next january:) But anyway hairstyles for school! This is probably the easiest entry I will do. I'll post a cute updo, and a few simple braids and so on. Along with those I'll put up how to do it. The ones I'm putting up are super simple and cute!

  • Now if you live in humid weather like me you can't always wear your hair down. I mean, realistically it would look better up then being consumed by the humidity anyway. A simple but cute updo is A high pony tail. Leave about a 1 inch piece out of your pony tail and after securing the elastic wrap the 1 inch piece around it. Secure with hair colored bobby pins. You can add a cute headband to add some color. Also, To give it texture put a few curls in it:)

Leaving your hair down always looks great especially if you style it. If you're anything like me almost 100% of the time I want my bangs out of my face. Here are a few ways to get your bangs out of your face or just any hair you don't want.  If you dont know how to do these google french braid, waterfall braid and how to curl you hair. There are really helpful tutorials on youtube:) hope this helps

A girl can never have too many shoes

I'm a stereotypical girl, i loveeee shoes! I used to wear the same pair every single day and didn't really care. Now I'm addicted to buying shoes especially heels. I love heels more than any other kind of shoe but I never have a place to wear them. I don't wear heels to school so that basically leaves weekends or special events. Life is too short not to wear heels:) But anyway, how to pick out the perfect pairs for school.
Here are some things you should keep in mind when buying shoes

  • How often will I wear them?
  • Are they comfortable?
  • Will I be able to wear them with multiple outfits?
  • Are these good to wear in my climate?
Okay you want to buy a pair of shoes that you will be able to wear more than one time with one outfit. Buy shoes you can mix and match depending on what you're wearing. Make sure, especially since you're in school and will be walking all day, that they are comfortable to walk in. Don't buy flats because they're cute but give you blisters because that's never fun. Also, do you live in warm or cold weather? Don't buy sandals when you have to walk to school in the snow. Here are a few cute shoes that I like and are comfortable and classy:)

These shoes go with multiple outfits and are super cute! You can get them at payless, forever21, american eagle, and most department stores:)

How to pick the perfect outfit!

Now obviously you have to take into account what your body style is. Do you have curves? What's the climate like where you live? What looks best on you? You shouldn't wear baggy jeans if you're going to drown in them. Accent the parts that you want to show off. If you don't have a butt don't wear something to draw attention to that area. Wear a shirt or shoes that will keep the eyes on those areas. One big mistake people make when back-to-school shopping comes around is staying in the summertime. Yes, everyone love being able to wear short dresses or skirts with cute tank tops. But that's not realistic. Pick something you're going to be comfortable in also that is school appropriate. Don't just pick an outfit because you know you won't get in trouble the first day. Pick something that you can continually wear throughout the year. Here are a few cute outfits that shows you care but doesn't make it seem like you're trying so hard.
I love the LC collection at Kohls it's afforadable and has the cutest things. Here are a few casual yet cute ideas for the first day.

Add a cute blazer or leather jacket with the dresses. You will be able to wear these dresses year round and they are school appropriate. To make these more casual, lose the heels and go with some cute flats. The main goal is to be comfortable.

Getting ready for school!

Okay so everyone wants to start a new school year looking amazing! As much as you don't want to admit it, it feels nice to be the one people are talking about (in a good way of course) So I'll start with how to choose the perfect outfit, then shoes, hair, and finally makeup. Are you ready? Because I am:)

Starting a new year

Everyone knows starting a new school year can be crazy! Whether you're starting middle school, a new year of high school, or college.  This year make a list of goals of what you want to achieve. You'll be surprised how much that actually affects what you do this year.
Don't be nervous, everything will work out how it's supposed to. But hey, just in case, lets go into it ready to kick some ass:)

Wear a Different Pair Intro

My name is Allison and I've realized that if I added all of the time up that I Google different questions, makeup ideas, hairstyles, and outfits that it would probably wind up being days. So congratulations! You've found the right blog and I'm here to answer all of your questions, even if only one person ends up reading it. If I can make a difference in at least one persons life, I've accomplished something. So I'll start with background information. I'm a girly girl but that doesn't mean I don't love sports. I plan on going to cosmetology school later this year and intend on accomplishing a lot in my life. I'm from a small town but I'm a big city type girl. Alright, lets get started:)
